FAQ
Here are some answers to frequently asked questions that might explain how we think and act.
Who we are?
We are a young semi-autonomous robotics company in Germany, founded in Frankfurt Main in 2022 by a Singapore-listed company and a German management team. We want to revolutionize the European market for urbanization and infrastructure applications with powerful innovations in construction robotics.
Our mission is to simplify and support previously manual tasks in the construction, painting and varnishing industry improving the safety of employees. We focus on occupational safety, high quality results, resource conservation and a measurable contribution to economic and social sustainability. To achieve this, we use innovations that go far beyond the technologies used. We enable our partners to have a positive impact on their customers, partners and communities.
What sets us apart?
Our corporate culture is characterized by respectful interaction, honesty and openness. We keep our word – that goes for everyone. We are a strong team. Our members are craftsmen, engineers and businesspeople who are all equally important and indispensable. Our customers place their trust in us and it is our job to honour and maintain that trust!
What are our solutions and services?
We provide innovative products and ideas to the skilled trades allowing for higher-value and cooperative work, while robots take over the monotonous and dangerous tasks. We produce and supply semi-autonomous mobile robots for the construction industry.
Why are we bringing this offer to the European market?
European companies and countries face huge challenges if they want to achieve the ambitious environmental targets, they have set themselves. First and foremost, CO2 emissions have to be reduced. Our robots help to minimize resource consumption and carbon footprint. Savings in materials and labor lead to increases in productivity and support employees. This also addresses the ongoing shortage of skilled workers.
What do we stand for?
We provide visionary and innovative semi-automatic robot applications for the construction industry (painting, façade protection, thermal insulation and renovation). We efficiently and effectively combine experience and expertise in the fields of painting, electrical engineering, proprietary programming, industrial design and CAD.
When will the i-paint XL be available on the European market?
In fall of 2024, several field tests will be conducted under real-life conditions. We expect these tests to be successful so that we can begin to launch the product on the European market.
How do we want to ensure success and sustainability?
Only companies that fully share, support and actively promote our aspirations and goals can become our partners. We grant them exclusivity in the use of our products and exclusive access to our network, allowing for even more technical innovation.
Who have we developed the i-paint XL for?
The i-paint XL technology has been developed for industrial construction. It supports painters when painting high interior walls in production halls and warehouses. It can be used for the first coat as well as for subsequent renovations or even refurbishments. Walls up to eight meters are no problem.
From what surface area is it worth using i-paint XL?
Our i-paint XL can paint 0,7 square meters of wall per second.
How does the i-paint XL team work?
Each i-paint XL robotic system is accompanied by one of our four-person teams on site and monitored on behalf of our customers to ensure top performance. Our customers and partners do not need additional staff to work with the i-paint XL. Additionally, a task force is always available at our head office to support our team on site.
Can the i-paint XL be bought?
Our high-performance i-paint XL can be used by our customers and partners on a project-related basis for the painting work to be carried out. You also benefit from our experienced support and inspection team. A purchase is not possible.
Are there any other i-paint X products?
Additional i-paint X products are planned for 2026 to support work in industrial construction and thermal refurbishment of industrial and residential buildings.
Why is there a market for painting robots in industry at all?
In the industrial construction and maintenance industry, there are huge areas that need to be painted or coated regularly. Particularly in projects with high ceilings or large wall surfaces, the use of skilled personnel is laborious, expensive and physically demanding. Painting robots like i-paint XL offer an attractive alternative here: they work efficiently, consistently and enable a new form of automation in an area that has so far been barely digitized.
Which projects are particularly suitable for painting robots like the i-paint XL?
Construction projects with large, clearly structured wall and ceiling surfaces are best suited. These include logistics centers, production halls, clean rooms, airports and train stations. Robots can work particularly efficiently there with their high area coverage and consistent quality – especially at heights between 4 and 8 meters.
How likely is it that robots will succeed in this market?
It is highly likely, especially with targeted pilot projects, transparent cost-benefit calculations and close cooperation with industry partners. Technological progress in the construction industry is advancing rapidly, and companies are increasingly looking for solutions to cope with a shortage of skilled workers, deadline pressure and rising costs. Robots like i-paint XL offer a convincing answer.
How flexible are painting robots in use?
Painting robots like i-paint XL are not only suitable for new buildings. They can also show their strengths in renovations, conversions or short-term maintenance. Thanks to high daily output, short set-up times and easy integration into existing processes, they can be used flexibly and scalably – even at short notice in the event of construction delays or maintenance work.
Which industries benefit most from painting robots like i-paint XL?
Three industries are particularly well suited for the use of painting robots:
- Semiconductor & high-tech: High standards of precision and cleanliness, e.g. in clean rooms. i-paint XL offers dust-free coating and consistent results – ideal for sensitive environments.
- Logistics & industry: Large areas and regular maintenance work. Robots enable quick, cost-efficient operations here – even at short notice, e.g. on weekends.
- Public infrastructure: Stations, airports and tunnels require efficient, plannable coating solutions. Robots are particularly suitable due to automated processes and minimal disruption to operations.
Why do painting robots make economic sense?
Automation brings clear financial benefits: robots work consistently, precisely and do not need breaks. Particularly when it comes to large-scale work, they reduce the need for personnel, shorten project times and thus lower overall costs. They also increase occupational safety and deliver consistently high quality – an important aspect for demanding industrial structures.
